Planet Snow Design has been building pipes and parks since
its inception in February 1998. It is a rider-driven company solely dedicated
to creating the best snowboarding venues on the planet. The company is
responsible for many of the industrys top snowboarding venues such
as the prestigious US Open, High Cascade Snowboard Camp, the Grand Prix
Series, and last but definitely not least, the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Superpipe.
At the helm of the business is Owner/Operator Pat Malendoski (BSc, Business Management). Malendoski started building snowboard terrain to ride for himself and friends at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon in 1997. At that time snowboard parks and pipes were a foreign entity to most resorts and there were not many operators that had the knowledge and skills to build what snowboarders wanted to ride. So Malendoski set to work learning all he could from other accomplished and very knowledgeable snowcat operators and was soon on his way to designing and building quality snow terrain features.
That was 8 years ago and since then Planet has built countless
parks, halfpipes, superpipes, quarterpipes, slopestyles, big airs, and
boardercrosses for snowboard contests and mountain resorts worldwide.
Thru many long hours and sleepless nights behind the sticks of a cat, Pat and his team have carved a reputation for building the best venues
in the world.
